What actually happens when we clean your duct system?
Proper air duct cleaning is more than vacuuming register openings. DAVESDUCTS inspects the HVAC system, establishes access, places the system under negative pressure, mechanically agitates supply and return ductwork, collects loosened debris with HEPA-filtered equipment, documents the work and reviews the system with you before we leave.

OUR CLEANING PROCESS
A system-by-system approach.
The exact procedure can vary with the design, accessibility and condition of the HVAC system, but this is the typical DAVESDUCTS residential cleaning process.
ASSESS
Inspect the HVAC system.
We assess accessible supply and return ductwork, system configuration, cleanliness and accessibility before cleaning begins. If the system does not appear to require remediation, we explain what we found before proceeding.
PROTECT
Prepare the work area.
Drop cloths and other protective measures are used where required around serviced areas so equipment can be moved and access can be established with appropriate care.
ACCESS
Create the openings needed to clean properly.
Access openings are created where required to reach the actual duct system rather than attempting to clean everything only through room registers. Required service openings are properly closed after cleaning.
COLLECT
Connect HEPA-filtered vacuum equipment.
Portable HEPA-filtered collection equipment is connected to the HVAC system to establish negative pressure and collect loosened dust and debris during cleaning.
BRANCHES
Clean supply and return branch ducts.
Appropriate brushes, air tools and agitation methods are used to loosen accumulated removable debris from accessible supply and return branches and move it toward the collection equipment.
TRUNKS
Agitate and clean the main trunk lines.
Main supply and return trunks are mechanically agitated as required to loosen adhered material so it can be removed from the system under negative pressure.
HVAC COMPONENTS
Inspect the blower and indoor coil.
We visually inspect accessible furnace-blower and indoor AC / heat-pump coil surfaces to identify whether components in the airstream appear visibly impacted by dirt or debris. More involved component cleaning is separate from the base duct-cleaning package when required.
CLOSE
Complete final cleaning and close access openings.
Serviced areas are lightly vacuumed as required, cleaning equipment is removed and the access openings created for the service are properly sealed and closed.
DOCUMENT
Provide proof of work.
We take before-and-after photographs where practical so you can review representative system conditions and see areas that were serviced.
REVIEW
Review the completed work with you.
Before the service is closed out, we review the work performed, discuss notable HVAC-system observations and provide practical feedback for maintaining the system going forward.

Portable HEPA-Filtered Vacuums
Portable collection equipment allows the vacuum to be positioned close to the HVAC system while captured air is filtered through HEPA filtration.
AGITATION
Brushes & Agitation Tools
Mechanical agitation is used to dislodge accumulated removable debris from accessible duct surfaces so it can be transported toward the collection equipment.
ACCESS
Proper Service Openings
Access openings are created where required so technicians can reach and clean the actual duct system rather than relying only on room registers.

Does DAVESDUCTS inspect the HVAC system before cleaning?
Yes. The accessible HVAC system is reviewed for cleanliness, configuration and accessibility before remediation proceeds.
Does DAVESDUCTS use truck-mounted vacuum equipment?
DAVESDUCTS uses portable HEPA-filtered collection equipment as part of its residential source-removal cleaning process. The effectiveness of the service depends on the complete procedure — proper access, negative pressure, mechanical agitation and collection — rather than the vacuum being mounted in a truck.
Do you clean both supply and return ductwork?
Yes. The residential process addresses applicable supply and return branches and main trunk lines within the agreed and accessible cleaning scope.
Do you make access holes in the ductwork?
Where required, access openings are created so the duct system can be cleaned properly. Openings created for the service are appropriately closed after cleaning.
Do you clean the furnace blower and AC coil?
Accessible blower and indoor-coil surfaces are visually inspected as part of the process. More involved blower or coil cleaning is separate from the base duct-cleaning package when warranted and approved.
Will I receive before-and-after photos?
DAVESDUCTS provides representative before-and-after documentation where practical so you can review system conditions and the work performed.
Can you camera-inspect every duct?
A more detailed branch-and-trunk snake-camera inspection is available as an optional service for an additional $299 + HST.
How often should air ducts be cleaned?
There is no single cleaning interval appropriate for every home. System condition, renovations, construction, pets, filtration, occupancy and previous cleaning quality can all affect whether remediation is warranted. DAVESDUCTS recommends cleaning based on actual system condition rather than a calendar alone.
