What does dryer vent cleaning actually do?
Dryer vent cleaning removes lint and other removable restrictions from the exhaust path between the dryer and the exterior termination. The goal is to restore a clear exhaust route so heat and moisture can discharge outdoors as intended.

Does your dryer exhaust through the roof or high on an exterior wall?
These systems can create additional service challenges. Roof height, pitch, weather, ladder placement and termination location all affect safe access.
CURRENT ACCESS LIMITATION
Approximately 17 feet is our current maximum ladder height for this service.
If the exterior termination is higher than this or located on a roof, complete cleaning may depend on another safe access point. Final determination may require an onsite assessment.

Roof, attic, crawlspace, high-wall, condo and specialty access conditions can require different assessment or pricing.
CONDOS & TOWNHOMES
Condo dryer vent cleaning can require a completely different setup.
Condominiums, stacked townhomes and no-driveway properties can involve parking restrictions, elevators, long exhaust paths, inaccessible terminations and building-specific access rules. DAVESDUCTS uses portable equipment for applicable projects and maintains a separate condo/townhome service scope.
DRYER EXHAUST MATERIAL
The duct itself matters.
Lint removal is only part of maintaining a dryer exhaust system. The material and configuration between the appliance and outdoors also affect airflow and serviceability.
Rigid Metal
Rigid metal duct provides a smooth exhaust path and is the preferred approach for concealed dryer exhaust routing.
Connector Behind Dryer
The short transition from the dryer to the permanent exhaust needs to remain open and should not be crushed or sharply kinked behind the appliance.
Exterior Termination
The termination needs to discharge outdoors and operate freely without a lint-trapping screen obstructing the opening.

How do I know if my dryer vent needs cleaning?
Possible warning signs include longer drying times, unusually hot clothing or appliance surfaces, weak movement at the exterior damper, increased laundry-room humidity and visible lint accumulation. Appliance problems can cause similar symptoms, so cleaning is not automatically the solution.
How much does dryer vent cleaning cost?
Current standalone pricing is $229 + HST for an applicable first-floor or basement dryer and $279 + HST for an applicable second- or third-floor dryer. When performed with DAVESDUCTS air duct cleaning on the same day, current rates are $99 + HST and $149 + HST respectively. Access and specialty conditions can change the scope.
Can DAVESDUCTS clean a dryer vent that exits through the roof?
Sometimes. Roof height, pitch, weather and termination location affect safe access. Some roof or high-wall terminations cannot be completely serviced from outside and require an onsite assessment or another safe access method.
Can you clean a dryer vent above 17 feet?
Approximately 17 feet is the current maximum ladder height for this service. If the termination is higher, the ability to service it depends on another safe means of access.
Can you move my dryer to access the vent?
DAVESDUCTS can move washers or dryers where they can be moved safely and without assuming responsibility for damage or conditions outside the service scope. Tell us about tight installations or stacked appliances before booking.
Can dryer vent cleaning fix a crushed or disconnected duct?
No. Cleaning removes lint and removable restrictions. Crushed, disconnected, damaged or poorly routed exhaust ductwork requires physical repair or replacement.
Should flexible dryer duct be hidden inside walls or ceilings?
Concealed dryer exhaust should use an appropriate permanent metal exhaust system. Existing concealed flexible material may need to be replaced where accessible as part of a dryer-exhaust repair.
Do you clean condo dryer vents?
Yes, where the system can be safely accessed and serviced. Condos and no-driveway townhomes have a separate service setup because of parking, elevators, building access and potentially difficult exhaust terminations.
