DAVESDUCTS • HVAC • TORONTO & THE GTA

HVAC service, installation and system diagnostics — with airflow and ductwork considered too.

DAVESDUCTS provides heating and cooling service, replacement, installation and system diagnostics for furnaces, air conditioners, central heat pumps, ductless systems and complete forced-air HVAC systems across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

THE DAVESDUCTS APPROACH

The equipment is only one part of the HVAC system.

Proper heating and cooling depends on more than the furnace, air conditioner or heat pump. Equipment capacity, blower airflow, supply and return ductwork, filtration, coils, controls and installation quality all affect comfort, efficiency and system performance.

EQUIPMENT

Heating & Cooling

We service and install equipment for residential and applicable light-commercial HVAC systems.

  • Gas furnaces
  • Central air conditioners
  • Central heat pumps
  • Ductless heat pumps
  • Hydronic air handlers

SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

Airflow & Ductwork

Replacing equipment does not automatically correct an HVAC system with inadequate airflow, restrictive ductwork or poor distribution.

  • Supply and return-air evaluation
  • Total external static pressure
  • Filter and coil pressure drop
  • Duct sizing and restrictions
  • Air balancing concerns

COLD-CLIMATE HVAC

Central Heat Pumps

Central heat pumps can provide both heating and cooling through an existing or appropriately designed duct system.

DUCTLESS

Ductless Heating & Cooling

Ductless heat pumps can be useful where traditional ductwork is unavailable, impractical or where individual-zone control is desired.

MAINTENANCE

Preventative Maintenance

Routine inspection and maintenance can help identify airflow, drainage, electrical, refrigerant and combustion concerns before they become larger problems.

DIAGNOSTICS

When an HVAC problem is not just an equipment problem.

Comfort problems, coil freezing, excessive noise, short cycling, weak airflow and uneven temperatures can originate elsewhere in the mechanical system.

AIRFLOW

Measure what the system is actually moving.

Supply airflow, return capacity, filter restriction, coil pressure drop and total external static pressure can all affect operation.

DUCTWORK

Look for restrictions and distribution problems.

Duct sizing, transitions, return pathways, leakage and balancing can determine whether conditioned air reaches the rooms that need it.

CONTROLS

Confirm the equipment is being controlled properly.

Thermostat setup, staging, communicating controls and system configuration can contribute to performance problems.

REPLACEMENT & SYSTEM DESIGN

Replacing equipment? Look at the complete system first.

New equipment performs best when it is selected and installed in a system capable of moving the required airflow and distributing heating and cooling properly.

01

Equipment Selection

Capacity and system type should be matched to the application rather than selected solely from the existing equipment nameplate.

02

Duct System

Supply trunks, returns, transitions, filters and coils all influence pressure, airflow and room-by-room comfort.

03

Installation & Commissioning

Refrigerant piping, condensate management, controls, electrical connections and equipment setup all affect final operation.

DIFFICULT PROJECT?

Use an HVAC consultation before equipment is selected.

For major renovations, recurring comfort complaints, unusual ductwork, multi-system homes or replacement projects that need deeper analysis, start with a dedicated HVAC consultation.

HYDRONIC HVAC

Boilers and hydronic air handlers.

Not every home uses a conventional gas furnace. DAVESDUCTS also works with boilers, hydronic heating systems and hydronic air handlers where hot water is used as the heating source.

HEAT-PUMP INCENTIVES

Planning a heat-pump replacement?

Available Ontario heat-pump incentives can depend on the existing heating source, eligible equipment, program requirements and pre-approval. Confirm current eligibility before equipment is ordered or installed.

OUR PROCESS

From problem to solution.

01

Understand

We start with the equipment, comfort concern, building and existing HVAC configuration.

02

Diagnose

Where appropriate, we evaluate equipment operation, airflow, ductwork and controls.

03

Recommend

We explain the repair, replacement or system changes we believe are appropriate.

04

Verify

After work is completed, operation is checked and the system is commissioned as applicable to the scope.

HVAC FAQ

Common heating and cooling questions.

Does DAVESDUCTS repair and install HVAC equipment?

Yes. DAVESDUCTS provides HVAC diagnostics, service, replacement and installation for furnaces, central air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless systems and related forced-air equipment in Toronto and the GTA.

Can ductwork cause heating or cooling problems?

Yes. Undersized or restrictive supply and return ductwork, dirty filters, restrictive coils, poorly designed transitions and other airflow problems can reduce system performance even when the HVAC equipment itself is operating.

Do I need to replace my furnace when installing a heat pump?

Not necessarily. The appropriate configuration depends on the existing equipment, controls, duct system, electrical capacity, heating requirements and the heat-pump system being considered.

Does DAVESDUCTS work with boilers and hydronic heating?

Yes. DAVESDUCTS also works with boilers, hydronic heating systems and hydronic air handlers. Visit our Hydronics section for more information.

Why does HVAC airflow matter?

HVAC equipment requires adequate airflow across the heat exchanger or evaporator coil and through the distribution system. Excessive restriction can contribute to poor comfort, noise, reduced capacity and equipment operating problems.

How do I know what HVAC system is right for my home?

The answer depends on the building, existing system, heating and cooling loads, ductwork, electrical service, comfort objectives and project scope. For more involved projects, an HVAC consultation can help establish the appropriate direction before equipment is selected.

Does DAVESDUCTS provide HVAC service in Toronto and the GTA?

Yes. DAVESDUCTS provides HVAC services across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Contact us with the service address and requested work so we can confirm scheduling and availability.
