POSITION 01
Senior HVAC Technician / Crew Lead
Lead field crews of junior HVAC apprentices while completing installation, retrofit and mechanical work on residential, commercial and industrial projects.
Licensing & trade background
- Experienced sheet metal mechanic / installer
- Gas fitter
- Refrigeration & air-conditioning mechanic
- Strong practical knowledge of HVAC installation, ductwork and mechanical systems
What the role involves
- Lead and organize crews of junior HVAC apprentices
- Review project scope and plan field execution
- Install and modify HVAC equipment, ductwork and associated mechanical systems
- Coordinate sheet metal, gas, refrigeration and related HVAC work
- Maintain workmanship, safety and jobsite standards
- Teach apprentices proper installation methods and troubleshooting practices
- Communicate job progress, deficiencies and field conditions clearly
- Work across residential, commercial and industrial projects
POSITION 02
HVAC Service Technician
Perform service calls, diagnostics and repairs on gas-fired appliances, air-conditioning equipment, heat pumps and refrigeration systems for residential, commercial and industrial customers.
Licensing & trade background
- Gas fitter
- Refrigeration & air-conditioning mechanic
- Strong electrical, controls and mechanical troubleshooting ability
- Comfortable diagnosing equipment from multiple manufacturers and applications
What the role involves
- Perform residential, commercial and industrial HVAC service calls
- Diagnose no-heat, no-cooling and equipment performance problems
- Service and repair gas-fired appliances
- Service and diagnose refrigeration and air-conditioning systems
- Work on heat pumps and associated controls
- Test components and verify system operation after repairs
- Document findings and explain recommended repairs clearly
- Identify when equipment issues are related to airflow, ductwork, controls or broader system conditions
THE WORK
One mechanical contractor. A broad range of systems.
Technicians at DAVESDUCTS may encounter equipment and system problems that cross traditional trade boundaries. The right candidate should be comfortable looking beyond a single component and understanding how the mechanical system works together.
Residential
Furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless equipment, hydronic systems, tankless water heaters, ductwork and indoor-air-quality equipment.
Commercial
Rooftop units, commercial furnaces, heat pumps, refrigeration equipment, duct systems, controls and related mechanical work.
Industrial
Mechanical-system work where equipment access, duct systems, ventilation, refrigeration or project coordination require experienced field leadership.
SENIOR TECHNICIAN LEADERSHIP
We are looking for someone who can lead a crew — not simply complete their own portion of the job.
Lead from the field.
The senior HVAC technician should be able to review the job, organize the work, assign appropriate tasks and keep the project moving while maintaining quality and safety.
Develop junior technicians.
Junior apprentices need practical instruction. We want a senior technician who can explain why the work is being done a certain way, demonstrate proper methods and correct mistakes before they become habits.
Recognize problems early.
Field conditions do not always match drawings or expectations. Strong crew leaders identify conflicts, missing information and potential mechanical deficiencies before they become costly rework.
Communicate clearly.
Our senior technician needs to communicate effectively with apprentices, customers, contractors and the DAVESDUCTS office about scope, progress, required materials and discovered deficiencies.
SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Diagnose the system — not just the first failed component.
A strong service technician needs to understand combustion, refrigeration, electrical systems, controls, airflow and equipment operation well enough to determine the actual cause of a failure and explain the appropriate repair.
Gas-Fired Equipment
Diagnose and service applicable furnaces, boilers, combi boilers, tankless water heaters, rooftop units and other gas-fired HVAC appliances.
Refrigeration Systems
Diagnose and repair applicable air-conditioning, heat-pump and refrigeration systems using proper refrigeration and electrical troubleshooting practices.
Controls & Airflow
Recognize when a symptom may be related to thermostats, controls, airflow, duct restrictions, static pressure, staging or system configuration rather than the refrigeration circuit alone.
