WHAT’S INCLUDED
Clean the exhaust path from the dryer connection toward the exterior termination.
Dryer vent cleaning requires suitable access to the dryer exhaust connection and the termination point. The exact cleaning approach depends on the vent route, length, termination location and site conditions.
01
Access the Dryer Connection
Access the exhaust duct behind the dryer so the vent system can be evaluated and serviced.
02
Clean the Exhaust Duct
Remove accessible lint and debris from the dryer exhaust duct using the appropriate cleaning method for the system.
03
Evaluate the Termination
Check the accessible exterior termination and identify conditions that may restrict discharge or require repair.
04
Identify Deficiencies
Advise you of visible concerns such as damaged ducting, crushed connections, inaccessible terminations or other conditions affecting the exhaust system.
WARNING SIGNS
Your dryer may be telling you the vent needs attention.
Restricted dryer exhaust can reduce drying performance and increase heat and moisture around the appliance.
Long Drying Times
Loads take progressively longer to dry or require additional cycles.
Clothes Stay Damp
Clothing is not fully dry at the end of a normal cycle.
Excess Heat
Clothing or the exterior of the dryer feels unusually hot.
Weak Exterior Exhaust
The exterior flap opens very little or airflow appears weak while the dryer operates.
Humid Laundry Room
Moisture accumulates in the room more than usual while drying clothes.
Burning / Hot-Lint Odour
An unusual burnt smell around the dryer should be investigated promptly.
ACCESS & LIMITATIONS
Dryer vent cleaning is only possible when the system can be accessed safely.
Some dryer vent configurations cannot be fully cleaned from the available access points. Roof terminations, excessive height, attic or crawlspace access and difficult building conditions can change the scope or prevent service.
What we need
- Safe access to the dryer and exhaust connection
- Ability to move the dryer where required and safe to do so
- Safe access to the exterior termination where necessary
- Clear information about upper-floor, attic or roof routing
- Suitable parking and equipment access
Conditions that may affect service
- Roof terminations or exhaust points above approximately 17 ft.
- Terminations that cannot be accessed safely
- Attic or crawlspace routing requiring additional access
- Damaged, crushed or disconnected exhaust ducting
- Condo or townhome configurations without normal service access
ROOF TERMINATIONS
A roof-exhausting dryer vent may require an onsite access assessment.
If the dryer exhaust terminates through the roof or at a height beyond our safe ladder access, DAVESDUCTS may not be able to clean the complete vent from the available access points. We will assess the actual configuration before proceeding.
CONDOS & TOWNHOMES
Different access can require different equipment and pricing.
Condo suites and townhomes without normal driveway or exterior access can require additional setup, portable equipment, building coordination and substantially more service time.
SPECIAL ACCESS PRICING
Condo and no-driveway projects require separate review.
Do not use the standard residential pricing above for condo or townhome situations where parking, shared exhaust systems, long equipment routes or building access changes the service method.
DRYER VENT REPAIRS
Cleaning does not repair a poor exhaust system.
If the problem is damaged, disconnected, improperly routed or inaccessible dryer exhaust ducting, cleaning alone may not solve it. DAVESDUCTS can identify applicable deficiencies and discuss corrective work where it falls within our service capabilities.
Crushed Transition
A damaged or compressed connection behind the dryer can restrict airflow even after the main duct is cleaned.
Damaged Duct
Separated, deteriorated or improperly connected exhaust ducting requires physical repair.
Poor Termination
Exterior hoods, roof caps or screens can create restrictions or maintenance problems.
Long / Difficult Runs
Long routes, multiple elbows and inaccessible sections can affect performance and serviceability.
DRYER VENT CLEANING FAQ
Common pricing and access questions.
How much is dryer vent cleaning without air duct cleaning?
The current published residential rate is $229 + HST for a first-floor or basement dryer and $279 + HST for a second- or third-floor dryer, subject to safe access and system configuration.
How much is dryer vent cleaning with air duct cleaning?
When completed on the same day as DAVESDUCTS air duct cleaning, the current published rate is $99 + HST for a first-floor or basement dryer and $149 + HST for a second- or third-floor dryer.
Can you clean a dryer vent that terminates through the roof?
Possibly. Roof terminations and vents higher than approximately 17 ft. require an onsite access assessment. Some configurations cannot be fully serviced safely with the available access.
Do you move the dryer?
Where necessary, DAVESDUCTS can move a dryer or washer when it can be done safely and without assuming liability for conditions outside our control. Please advise us of tight or unusual access when booking.
Can cleaning fix crushed or disconnected dryer ducting?
No. Cleaning removes accessible lint and debris; damaged, crushed or disconnected ductwork requires physical repair.
Is condo dryer vent cleaning the same price?
Not necessarily. Condo and no-driveway installations can require different equipment, building access and substantially more setup time, so separate pricing may apply.
